At breakfast I discover that the United Healthcare Pro Continental team have moved into my hotel (it's only got like 15 rooms). They are here racing in a bunch of races, including just finished the 3 days of de Panne (or whatever it's called). Hilton Clarke is an Aussie in the team.. Nice to hear an Aussie accent at breakfast !
After that I went exploring Brugge and the beach to see a bit more of Belgium... Brugge was beautiful... And they were still packing away the stuff from the start of the Ronde the day before.
After Brugge I hit the beaches... Well more like gale force winds at 12 degrees hit me... I'm not sure when the beach weather is here... But it's long away !
Well that's it ! Planning to go and ride a loop through my favorite Flanders climbs tomorrow.. I think I'm putting off going down to see the route of Roubaix... I can't get the comment about the Flanders cobbles being so smooth compared to roubaix ... out of my mind.... It's VERY scary.
Ahhhhh waffles.... You can never have too many ... And the sauce was dark chocolate !
