So... today was marked as a small ride or rest day. Wonderboy decided a 6k climb was exactly right for him and MissP (after struggling out of bed at.... around 11) decided the Petite Lac was the right training for her.
Before heading out we had some bike maintenance to complete. Cleats and tyres were wearing out and needed replacing and gears needed sorting.
Wonderboy.. in search of his "ride alone" licence (from me) took control of his ride and I tagged along as chaperone. He has handled the riding on the other side of the road amazingly well, and once sorting out the navigation challenges will be all set to roll (he has his French phone working... so we have the rescue plan sorted!!).
After our spin, we headed back into Flumet and down to the petit lac. Awesome fun... especially for someone who now knows how to swim!!
Paula's Footnotes: Today it was time to let the boys be boys and the ladies be ladies. WMM and Wonderboy headed off for another climb and I headed for the Petit Lac for some R&R which was short lived. The boys arrived and Wonderboy went to collect lunch. French hotdogs by the Lac - it doesn't get much better. Rest day well deserved but its short lived as higher, steeper mountains await me tomorrow for my first European Cycle Race. Working on my plan to ditch Wonderboy and WMM so I can enjoy the scenery aka cute boys in lycra tomorrow
I want a Sausage and Tomme sambo and a French Hot Dog...and I want it NOWWWWWWWWWWW!!
